NEIGHBORHOOD
- the Ocna Šugatag tourist resort provides medical services, dental services, a post office, a branch of the BRD bank (with an ATM), shops and restaurants.
- the salty lakes area is ideal for the summer season; there are camping facilities, sunbathing area, swimming area, and in 2007 new facilities were created, such as beaches, modern showers, ATVs, hydro bicycles, boats and jet skis.
- many tourists are attracted by the trips that can be made in the neighbouring villages (on foot, by cart/sleigh or bicycle), in order to visit wooden churches, mills, whirlpools, and plum brandy ("palinca") breweries.
- for the winter holidays, Ocna Šugatag becomes a favourite area for those who love winter sports, due to the short distance (20km) from the ski slopes in Cavnic. There are slopes for all categories of skiers, some slopes are lit at night, there is also a tubbing slope; there are ski equipment, snowboards and ATVs for rent.
- there is also the possibility to buy souvenirs - traditional, hand-made objects from the local craftsmen.
